She had lost two, and since she nested with them, we couldn&#8217;t keep an eye on them.  Now, they have fur, and she has one gray one and one tawny one.  Still a little young to tell what gender they are.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While I was on my east coast trip, some commingling  between our male and one of our female gerbils (Elephant).  Last week, she gave birth to 4 gerbils.  One died right away and another died a couple of days later.  The remaining 2 seem to be doing fine, although Elephant has been keeping them well-hidden.  They are too young to determine gender, so we haven&#8217;t named them yet (even though that didn&#8217;t stop us from naming Elephant).  Hopefully, they will soon be big and strong enough to wander from the nest.</p>
