Chicago Brewing Co.

Chicago Brewing Co.

A couple of weeks ago, on a rather pleasant afternoon, I had a rather leisurely lunch on the patio of the Chicago Brewing Co. with several friends. Quiet the enjoyable afternoon. I’m rather fond of the beer here but find the food to be only OK.

Visited a friend in Carpinteria, CA over the weekend and went to Island Brewing Company. I have been there before and really enjoy their beers. It’s only available locally, so it’s an excellent treat when I get to go. Thanks to this friend, I was even able to have the excellent small batch Bourbon Barrel Jubilee Ale just about a month ago.

Took this last night at The Peppermill but couldn’t upload it because of a dying battery. One is with ice cream. One is on the rocks. Let the record show that neither of these were mine. I don’t drink drinks the size of my head.

I tried Sandeman Ruby Porto when I was at Moonstruck in Philadelphia and really enjoyed it. I saw it at my local Whole Foods and opted to treat myself.

Four Vines

Four VinesOriginally uploaded by Tombrarian

For a while, I had been posting pics of new beers that I had been trying, so that I could keep track. It’s about time to start posting pics of different things I try.

This is a Four Vines, “The Biker,” Zinfandel. I like zins because they can be so robust. This one seems especially so, which pleases me. I’m not particularly articulate (yet) about wine, but I like the strong and slightly spicy flavor of this wine. I would definitely get it again if I was in the mood for something bold.

My previous pics of beer can be found here.
