One of the downsides to moving to the southwest is that I am no longer a short flight from Toronto making a trip for the Toronto International Film Festival more of a journey. One, alas, I will not be making this year.

Fortunately, someone invented this Internet thing, and I can follow from afar. I subscribed to several of the blogs so that I can find out what I’m missing. One thing I’m not sorry to miss is the aggravation that is the out of town package.

One of the upsides of moving to the southwest is that I’m finally going to a conference I’ve been wanting to go to for a few years now, the National Media Market. It’s been in the southwest for the past several years and was a bit of an expensive trip. Of course, the past few years it was in Vegas, but I’m still just a 6 hour car ride away. I’ll finally get to mingle with other media librarians.
