I spent last week at the National Media Market in Lexington, KY. As with last year, the Market was a wonderful, rewarding experience. The Market kicked off with a special session about Digital Video Licensing. More of that discussion can be found here and new information will also be posted to this year’s wiki as it becomes available.
I want to list some of the titles that caught my interest. Getting to all the exhibitors is darn near impossible, so this list is by no means an exhaustive list of what is worth taking a look at.
- Chavez Ravine
- The Water Front
- The Dhamma Brothers
- Addicted to Plastic
- Diamond Road
- The Greening of Southie
- Secrecy
- Jesus Politics
- Once Upon a Time…Rome, Open City
- Milk in the Land
- Operation Filmmaker
- Umbrella…
- Tracked Down by Our Genes
- Never Perfect
- Miss Navajo
- Taxi to the Dark Side (which won Best in Show at the Market)
- The Axe in the Attic
- The Lost Colony
- Journey of a Red Fridge
- 6 Billions Others
- American Savannah
- Asiemut
- Skinheads of Asia
- In the Name of the Fürher
- Children of the Armageddon
- May the Bomb be with You
The question remains as to how many of these I’ll be able to afford to add to our collection, but that’s my post-NMM2008 wish list.
I have a feeling that some of these titles will show up as recommendations for the Notable Videos Committee.
