I’m Not Going to CiL; However…

I’m currently working on 2 proposals for Internet Librarian and may be submitting a 3rd.

This is the first Computers in Libraries I haven’t gone to in 6 years. Part of my thinking when I left Philadelphia and moved to Las Vegas was that Internet Librarian would be my “local” conference that I would try to get to every year and CiL would be the occasional treat as it was last year when I presented there.

I’ll miss the great program and hanging out with all the great people, but I have quite a few conference and other obligations that made a trip to Crystal City difficult this time around. But I hope to see many of my CiL friends at ALA in Chicago this summer or at IL in the fall.

Have fun without me and I’ll be following online.

Information Commons: The Resurgence of Library as Place

Time does fly. It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was contacted about doing a workshop for the Metropolitan Library System based on the presentation I gave at Computers in Libraries, but that was back in June. The workshop is in November, and I just made my flight and hotel arrangements.

More information (including how to register) about the workshop can be found here.
